Our arboreal business was founded in the village of Winsley, Wiltshire – on the doorstep of the town of Bradford on Avon – in 1997 by Alexander Benjamin. With a passion for tree conservation Alexander took delight in caring for trees across the local area of West Wiltshire and in the city of Bath, while planting more than 1,000 trees over the years on the family’s own piece of woodland, known as Widbrook Wood.
Unsurprisingly Alexander’s son, John Benjamin, also took to the family tradition of working with trees, becoming a professional tree surgeon with extensive experience, including a stint in the USA where he held the post of Senior Tree Surgeon for the San Diego local authority in California.
When John came back home, Alexander stepped back from the rigours of running the business, eventually retiring to Orkney in Scotland and passing the reins on to his son.
John now runs J.B. Arborcare, taking an active role in its tree surgery activities, ably assisted by a small but dedicated team of skilled, qualified arborists.
